I have 23 years of management experience with a German automobile manufacturer which includes involvement in corporate acquisitions. Buying our own business, however, was a whole new experience. In the process of searching, evaluating, due diligence, financing, using 401k funds successfully, employment resignation, family issues, floor plan approval, legal documents and our relocation, Joe and Sandy’s encouragement, communication skills, expertise, third party relationships and extreme patience kept us focused on moving forward in an organized manner.
Often it seemed like there was a new roadblock everyday. In our journey that required gaining the confidence of four different lenders and ten key manufacturers, we found that there was an equal or larger blessing that accompanied each resolved roadblock. I never knew there was so much to be learned and we’ll always be grateful for Joe and Sandy’s leadership. In a year from now, I expect to look back on this as the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had, except, of course, my marriage to Rozell and the births of our children.
The business we purchased is everything we anticipated and more. We feel very fortunate that the former owners decided to trust us with their team of Employees, Vendors and Customers. And guess what, President George Bush is one of those valued customers!
We always knew that Joe and Sandy represented the sellers but they bent over backwards to help us understand the business and made sure we were properly represented by our own advisors at all times. They refused to allow anything or anyone to “steal our dream”. If you are wondering if the BizAdvocates folks know what they are doing, I assure you, they do.
Joe and Sandy are also kind and fair. I know for a fact the former owners are also very pleased with their experience with BizAdvocates. Working with Joe and Sandy was a pleasure. They were very thorough and professional from start to finish. Their focus on the screening of buyers to find someone who would be dedicated with the will to succeed in a complex business venture was very important. Our business is very complicated because of the many outside vendors, variety of products in the different departments and many factory sales representatives we needed to get the buyer comfortable with personally/financially and vice versa.
With 23 years of Senior Management experience with Mercedes Benz / North America, our buyers more than met the test and are well prepared to successfully grow the company.
We feel that Joe, Sandy and their staff worked very diligently to achieve the final goal of selling our business for an “accurate and fair” value. Their non-contingent fees were fair and well earned. It’s plain to see that we are living our dream. We have moved into our lovely new lake home where we have excellent fishing and warm weather year round. We are thoroughly enjoying our retirement!

PS: Joe even created an agreement with the new owners so I can continue (in retirement) to represent the company in fishing tournaments nationwide! Now I am going to teach Joe how to fish like a pro.
